The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
